![]() ![]() Lion’s Eye Diamond is now unbanned in Middle School All changes are going in to effect immediately as of this announcement (Monday, May 1, 2023), for all Eternal Central events moving forward. And Dredge should never be in a position where it looses game 1.The following changes outlined below are being made to Eternal Central’s recommended Banned and Restricted Lists for the Middle School format. I can see that this would add a little more consistency to the deck, but it also slows the combo finish down and makes game 1 less certain. The common example is running something like Tireless Tribe as Putrid Imp 5-8. However, rather than this end up as an argument I will undoubtedly loose, I want to know if people think dredge can still reach its full potential without the Diamond. And all so that one of the fastest decks in the format can go off even faster? I struggle to see how that helps. It seems to me that running LED makes you weaker to counter spells, makes grave-hate hit harder, makes your mulligans worse, makes the deck less consistent in general and has to be justified by running a harder-to-cast Careful Study (although Looting would probably be run even if LED wasn't a card). I too am currently in this position, but have my suspicions about the card and whether or not I should invest in a play-set. Specifically for Legacy, most people only forego LED if they can't afford it.
